College of Agriculture, Imphal, formerly known as Manipur Agricultural College, is the first constituent college of Central Agricultural University, established in 1993 under the Central Agricultural University act passed by the Parliament of India. The College Campus is located at Iroisemba, a distance of 5kms from Imphal City and is spread over an area of 44 acres of land amidst a picturesque landscape full of greenery surrounded by Langol Hills in the Western and Northern sides.

The College is reputed for its highly qualified and well experienced faculty, dedicated staff and state of the art infrastructure that facilitates teaching-learning experience and co-curricular activities. • BSc Agriculture is a 4-year undergraduate course that primarily focuses on research and practices in agricultural science, dealing with disciplines like Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agricultural Microbiology, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, etc. It is a professional degree recognized by the Government of India in the field of agricultural science. This course aims to provide training to implement modern agricultural techniques and technologies in the real-world scenario. 


• Students who wish to study this course should have completed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects and also Agri Diploma students and with Agriculture in 12th students can also do this course. The admission is either done on the basis of Merit and Direct Interview or through BSc Agriculture Entrance Exams like ICAR, State Entrance Exams and CUET .

BSc Agriculture is a 4 years UG course providing all the scientific methods and techniques of agriculture. Students after completing BSc in Agriculture have a good scope in their careers. The admission procedure varies from institute to institute. Some colleges provide direct BSc Agriculture admission on the basis of merit and personal interview, and some colleges conduct national, state-level, or university level entrance examinations to admit interested students.

For Direct Admission:

Students must fill out the college application form whether online or offline before the application deadline in order to be considered for the admission process.

For Entrance Exam based Admission:

Students must fill the registration form of one of the many BSc Agriculture Entrance Examinations such as KCET, KEAM which offers admission into colleges of Karnataka and Kerala respectively.

Admission is offered on the basis of performance in these examinations, followed by the different rounds of counseling sessions which usually consist of Group Discussion and Personal Interviews. 

Interested students are required to fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of BSc Agriculture course :


• Completion of Intermediate (12 years of school education) in the Science stream with 50% of marks.

• Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/or Mathematics as the subjects of study.


Apart from this, candidates possessing Diploma in Agriculture, Intermediate in Agriculture stream (limited states) are also eligible to apply for the course. A few of the colleges also conduct their own university and college-level entrance examination for offering admissions to this course.

Almost all the BSc Agriculture entrance exams are MCQ based and consist of questions from Biology, Chemistry, Physics at Class 10-12 level. There may be a section testing either Logical reasoning or General English skills of a candidate as well.
